PARASITIC FAUNA OF EDIBLE LAND SNAILS IN SELECTED AREAS OF LAGOS METROPOLIS NIGERIA
African land snails possess economic, nutritive, medicinal and traditional values. However, they have been implicated as hosts and transmitters of certain parasites that pose health risks to humans.
EFFECTS OF DAMAGE ON THE MORPHOMETRICS AND CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF SHELLS OF FRESHWATER SNAILS, Pila africana and Lanistes lybicus
Snails are soft-bodied animals with a protective shell. Although snail shells help to protect the snail from environmental threats and predators, occasionally the shell is damaged by predatory birds.
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE COLUMELLAR MUSCLE AND COLUMELLAR OF GIANT AFRICAN LAND SNAIL (Archachatina marginata)
The columellar muscles originate from the columellar of the shell, attaching the body parts of snail to the shell and responsible for retraction in coiled gastropods. The attachment of the columellar muscle to the columellar enhances the performance of the columellar muscle.

THREATS TO THE SPECIES DIVERSITY AND SUSTAINABLE USE OF EDIBLE LAND SNAILS (GASTROPODA: ACHATINIDAE) IN NIGERIA
There are global challenges to sustainable development; the world is faced with natural resource depletion and adverse impacts of environmental degradation, including desertification, drought, land degradation, and loss of biodiversity (Carr et al., 2013).
